Arsenal have passed up on the opportunity to sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray

Arsenal   have passed up on the opportunity to sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray. The Danish defender had been touted as a possible replacement for Jurrien Timber, who is set to spend the majority of his first Gunners season sidelined by injury. 24yo was offered to #AFC during recent transfer talks. Nelsson has a £21m release clause but Gunners looking at alternatives. Mikel Arteta will have been encouraged by Timber's potential impact after a solid performance at left-back in the Community Shield earlier this month. The versatile Dutchman can play across the back-line, although supporters were not given long to enjoy his talent. Suffering a devastating ACL injury against Nottingham Forest is set to keep Timber out of action for the foreseeable future. Exit-linked Rob Holding could deplete Arteta's defensive options even further if he leaves before Friday's deadline. The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Turkey in recent months, with Tottenham a

Arsenal Women: Jen Beattie signs new contract

We are delighted to announce that Jen Beattie has signed a new contract with Arsenal. Jen played a key role for us last season, making a significant contribution on and off the pitch as we won the FA Women's Continental Tyres League Cup, reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and secured qualification for the 2023/24 edition of that competition. The 32-year-old central defender has served us with distinction over two spells in North London. Jen first joined us in 2009, winning one league title, two FA Cups and two League Cups during this time before departing in 2013. The Scot then returned to Arsenal in 2019, after stints with Montpellier, Manchester City and Melbourne City. In total, Jen has made 157 appearances for us, scoring 32 goals along the way. Her most recent goal for us came in that UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg, played in front of a sell-out Emirates Stadium crowd. Jen was presented with the BBC Sports Personality of

Man City CEO Ferran Sorriano on Declan Rice deal:

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano on pulling out of Declan Rice deal -  "If you look at what we did at the start of this project, there was a need for a lot of changes and investment - but not anymore. If you look at what we have done in the last five years, our level of investment in new players is well thought out. “We are not the top net-spenders of last year or the last three or five years. We have a platform where we know what to do & we can do it with time and intelligence.  “When we don't like a deal, we walk away and we don't panic.”

News: Declan Rice to Arsenal

@gunnerblog on Rice: “It’s no longer between Edu & Karren Brady, it’s now a conversation between accountants effectively, people who are trying to make the numbers stack up for both sides, so this enormous transaction can take place.  It is complex, but there is no reason to panic. If anything, the people involved in making this deal are a little bit more relaxed now because everyone is on the same page.” [YouTube]  “West Ham can use the guarantee of future money from Arsenal to borrow against, to improve their cash flow in the short-term, but with interest rates high, that may not be favourable for them to do.  Arsenal, meanwhile, they’re in a position where they can borrow direct from someone very close to them - they have borrowed, up until this point, quite a substantial amount of money, into the hundreds of millions, from KSE - effectively Stan Kroenke & his business.”  “They can continue to do that & I suspect in order to get a deal the size of Declan Rice over the l

Arsenal reach Isco transfer decision

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly decided against making a move for Real Madrid star Isco due to the emergence of Emile Smith Rowe. The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 28-year-old midfielder for some time, but the Spain international remains at Real Madrid. Arteta is said to be a big fan of the attacker and what he could potentially bring to North London if he were allowed to leave the Spanish capital. However,  AS  report that Arteta has dropped plans to sign Isco after Smith Rowe sent a clear message. The 20-year-old has had to be patient and bide his time to force his way into contention, but following Arsenal's disastrous start to the season Arteta has placed his faith in the youngster. Smith Rowe has started three consecutive games for the Gunners, all three of which have been victories against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom.

Brighton keen on Ainsley

Brighton keen on Ainsley Maitland Niles and are readying a bid for him. Arteta wants him to stay as he is valued for his Versatility he played left wing back against Man city on Saturday. "He is a player that can play so many positions. I don't discuss and speculation about any player, because I don't read them he knows what I want from him". Arteta. The fact that he qualifies as a home grown member of Arsenal quad is beneficial too. "He knows what the club is all about, he is working hard, very humble and he asks questions too that is the type of mentality I like from him. I will for him to stay at the club that is what I want from him but in football you know anything can happen". David Ornestin on the athletic podcast

People close to the club says is not the case of if Arteta will let them down it is the case of will the board let him down. The gooners are looking to strengthen in defense, central midfield( holding or B2B) and a wide player is of Arteta liking (William could be an option). Some few people at the club are already fed up with Guendouzi and wants him sold. Ornestin: "I spoke with Edu and Josh kronke (for last week piece) and what I can tell you is that they have been impressed with Mikel Arteta as a person and Professional. And I really think they are going to back him in the summer in the way they should. Ornestin understanding is that there is nothing happening with Martinelli and he his expected to feature in upcoming  games. David ornestin: " As i understand there is interest for Tyrone mings from some Premier league big clubs. Arsenal like him too but whether they can bid for the player. Whether they could afford the fee Villa would want for him is another different matt

Guendozi's taunt to brighton players

"I earn more than you ever will". Guendouzi's tasteless taunt to Brighton players. Guendouzi who earns £40k per week, spent the game taunting Brighton players about the financial disparity between the squad. Guendouzi allergy said Brighton players are "s***".. And that he and his team mates earn so much more than they will ever earn. He's done it in other games as well. Guendouzi also blamed Maupay for Leno's injury. He labeled Maupay has heartless for for the injury suffered by Leno.  France coach Deschamps is known as stickers for discipline. Guendouzi has impressed the manager. Deschamps who gave the Midfielder a first senior call up to the French National team for the European championship Qualifiers in November. I love this guy... The type of mentality Arsenal players need right now that fighting spirit reminds me lauren.

Gary neville on Mikel Arteta and the Defense

Gary Neville speaks on Arteta shape and the defense. "Mike Arteta:- we should still say that the shape of arsenal which they are playing, the shape they have defensively I think is better than it was previously but the individual within always let them down that a fact of the matter". "It doesn't matter how well you coach the shape, if you get exposed one on one or defenders make mistakes, as we saw in the game against Mancity and Brighton, then you are just going to get punished. Arsenal didn't learn their lesson from that early scare in the second half against Man city. A few minutes later, Ederson produced another raking ball that found Kevin De Bruyne out on the right wing. The Belgian glanced it inside with his head to Mahrez, who drove past David Luiz into the box before being brought down for the penalty that effectively ended the match as a contest. Arteta on lacazette confidence

Arteta keen to rebuild lacazette confidence. "Alex is a player that I always liked. He is the type of striker who can do a bit of everything" said Arteta.  "He is very talented at linking and combining with each other. The work rate and the way he compete for every ball it is rare to find that in a striker. Then he has the ability to but the ball at the back of the net when he is in fr on of goal". "It has been a difficult season for him and not him for other players too. We have been trying to manage that. He has a lot of continuity with him but he has a spell where he was finding it difficult to score goals. "In few weeks (before lockdown) he looked much better and was a threat and he scored some important goals as well. I want to give him that confidence". "I think the way he came on against city in a difficult scenario, he showed a lot of wiliness to help the team and his teammate ... I am happy for him. He also added: " Everyone needs i

Mikel Arteta issues warning to pepe

Having been an unused substitute as Arsenal lost 3-0 to Manchester City, Nicolas Pepe picked up roughly where he left off before the suspension of the season. Speaking ahead of the Brighton match,  Mikel Arteta has challenged him to up his game  . “It’s clear that his consistency has not been at the level he can produce,” he said. “He’s the first to accept that. That’s what I’m going to demand of a player of his level and calibre". “He has to be producing every three days at the level that he can be. He has to be a player that can make the difference, that is a threat, that generates fear in the opponent and gives us a big threat in the final third. His work rate has to be related as well with that kind of performance. “He knows that. He’s such a nice kid. He’s trying really hard. You have to accept as well the timing and the way he has adapted for the first year. “A lot has happened for him and we have to understand that. He’s willing and I’m sure we’re going to get the best out
