Angel Gomes training with Pogba and Fernandes gives tantalising glimpse of potential Manchester United future

Manchester United fans have waited a long time to see Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba train together.

United have been training in fours and, along with Pogba, Fernandes and Nemanja Matic, Angel Gomes was tasked with playing alongside the club’s two most talented midfielders.

While Gomes’s future is unclear, he would be wise to look around this week and see what he would be leaving behind. We previously explained what a great teacher Fernandes could be for the 19-year-old. And that is before you throw Pogba into the mix.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to keep Gomes beyond this summer. And the player should stick around.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to keep Gomes beyond this summer. And the player should stick around because training has given a tantalising glimpse of a possible future.

One day if the teenager signs a new deal, we could see a United starting XI with all three. It would be interesting to see if and how the trio could operate in one team.

Fernandes certainly has the versatility to ensure he and Pogba shine together rather than negate each other’s influence. Gomes has the innate talent to flourish in their presence on the training field.

He is clearly seen in the same bracket by Solskjaer and there are few other clubs in the world where he would be learning from – and ultimately shining alongside – two such talents.

Gomes, Fernandes and Pogba can play together. The question is: Will it ever happen?

Everton confirm Beto signing

Everton have confirmed the signing of striker Beto from Udinese. The Toffees are paying around £25m for the Portuguese forward who will immediately improve their frontline. And he is seemingly delighted to join the club after Everton reignited previous interest this summer. "It feels good to join Everton," Beto said. "I have always appreciated them as a club. "Everton is a big, big club in the Premier League, well respected and has big history. It was easy to make this move. "When a club like Everton tries to buy you in January and then comes again in the summer, you feel like, 'Okay, they want me for real', so that made the decision easy for me as well. My idol, Samuel Eto’o, played here, too, which makes it even more special."
