Arsenal are expected to make an official offer for orkun kökcü

Arsenal are expected to make an official offer for orkun kökcü within a few weeks.

Arteta has known player for yearsz especially from scouting reports from Man City. Arsenal want to build a new talented young team, they believe kökcü fits that philosophy.

"It is very serious they (arsenal) have been working on it for a long time. The transfer is slowly being prepared and then the offer must eventually come. That is not this week but I expect arsenal to come up with something. Otherwise they would have done all those work for nothing".

If the Turkey U21 international joins Arsenal, he will be seen as a replacement for Mesut Ozil whose decline has been apparent for most fans and pundits, even though some believe the World Cup winner still has what it takes to prove his doubters wrong.

Just like the 31-year-old, Kokcu plays in an advanced midfielder role and has been praised for his vision and passing skills.

While Arsenal are quite cash-strapped because of the economic shutdown, Feyenoord sporting director earlier admitted the Dutch side will probably have to sell Kokcu for a bargain price.

The player himself has reportedly informed his club of his desire to leave so chances are Arsenal will continue their transfer policy of snapping up talented youngsters and turning them into stars.
